Delete a contact in Leadgains
Use this SOP only when a contact record really needs to disappear from Leadgains, for example an incorrect test contact or a duplicate created by mistake.
Brief overview
Deleting a contact is not the same as stopping follow-up. Do not use Delete to process an unsubscribe, STOP, DND or normal follow-up stop.
Should someone stop receiving automatic messages? Use the correct opt-out/DND handling or Remove Follow Up when you only want to stop follow-up.
Step-by-step plan
Step 1 - Open Contacts and select the contact
Go to Contacts. Find the right contact and tick the row to the left of the name. Check the name, phone number and email address before continuing.
Step 2 - Click Delete
Click Delete at the top after selecting the correct contact. Stop here if you are unsure whether the contact should really be removed.
Step 3 - Confirm with DELETE
Type DELETE in the confirmation window and click Delete again. The contact is then deleted.
Common problems
No. For a real unsubscribe, leave the contact in place and respect DND/opt-out. If you only want to stop follow-up without opt-out, use Remove Follow Up.
Check that you are in Contacts, that a contact is actually selected and that you have enough permissions. Ask an administrator to check your rights if the button is missing.
Report this internally as quickly as possible. Deleted contacts can sometimes be restored temporarily, but always treat deletion as an action with a risk of data loss.
Use the separate SOP Create contact in Leadgains.
